About John Welsh
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. At 15, I joined the American Federation of Musicians Local 180, and played with various bands in venues throughout Central Canada. Before leaving home, I also worked for Sears, Footlocker Sports, and the Liquor Board of Ontario prior to joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
After RCMP training in Regina, I was stationed at Richmond Detachment. I have worked a multitude of sections in my career, Uniformed Duties, Police Service Dogs, specialized Investigative and Major Crime Task Force Units. As a Dog Handler, I also worked and trained in Avalanche Search and Rescue, participating in many searches with various Search and Rescue teams throughout BC. After 23 rewarding years, I proudly retired from the RCMP and moved on to my new exciting career…..
After having successfully completing the licensing requirements at the University of British Columbia, I became a member of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board in the fall of 2002. In 2006, after several happy and successful years with a local company, I was introduced to Keller Williams Realty through a friend in Ottawa. After much research, the KW motto 'God, Family, and then Business' was an obvious fit, and I found several other like-minded partners and opened the first Keller Williams franchise office in the Fraser Valley Board. Within a very short time, the office has grown exponentially, and received awards and recognition for production levels from the Real Estate Board and Keller Williams International.
I have been a resident in Abbotsford since 1989 and am very blessed to be married to Heather and very proud of my 2 adult children; Thomas, and Shawna who was a fully licensed realtor but has decided to focus on being a Marketing Specialist/Assistant and member of The Welsh Team.
My Client-First Philosophy
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.
That said, in my experience as a Abbotsford real estate professional, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.
This "client first" philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I've found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients.
